Payroll Education Awards

Requirements for the Award Application:

1. Complete the Payroll Education Award application.

2. Attach one letter of recommendation from a professional.

3. Eligible applicants must be a current chapter member.

4. The Award will expire one year after being issued.

5. Current board members are not eligible to receive this award.

Available Awards:
  • (One) Carolinas Payroll Conference Award (maximum value $400)
  • (Two) APA Payroll Education Awards (maximum value $400)

Charlotte APA Chapter Award Descriptions

Carolinas Payroll Conference Award

One award shall be granted to an outstanding member of the chapter to attend the Annual Carolinas Payroll Conference in November. The award recipient will be acknowledged during a general session of the payroll conference. The award will cover conference registration fees (up to $400.00). Hotel, meal and travel expenses will be the sole responsibility of the award recipient. Applications are due by August 30th of the current year.

APA Payroll Education Award

Two awards (up to a maximum of $400 each) shall be granted for one of the following:

a) Registration for an APA Payroll Education Webinar

b) Registration for an APA Payroll Education course

c) An APA Publication.

The recipient will receive a certificate of award. The recipient will present this certificate and confirmation of registration to the Charlotte APA Treasurer for reimbursement, up to $400. Applications are due by August 30th of the current year.

                  
 
 

The Renae Boger Memorial Education Awards are presented annually in honor of Charlotte APA Chapter founder, Renae Boger, a demonstrated and courageous leader, dedicated payroll professional and longtime supporter of the Charlotte APA Chapter and the Carolinas Payroll Conference.

The purpose of the Renae Boger Memorial Education Award is to recognize individuals dedicated to the Payroll Profession and encourage their educational and professional advancement through opportunities provided in the State of North Carolina.

The Charlotte Chapter of the APA will offer Education Awards each year to recognize three outstanding chapter members. If you would like to apply for one of these awards, please see the requirements for the award application and submit to the awards committee at ccapa2010@yahoo.com by the deadline stated below.

Welcome to the Charlotte Chapter of the American Payroll Association!

 We strive to provide the most current information possible to make your payroll efforts more efficient and precise. Please enjoy your visit and come back often, as information is always being added.

 History: The Charlotte Chapter APA was founded in July,1995. We currently enjoy a membership of over 300 payroll professionals from Charlotte and the surrounding areas representing organizations of a wide variety of sizes and types.   

Meetings: Our Chapter meets monthly in Charlotte from February through October. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month and meetings are normally scheduled for one and a half hours. Our meeting agenda includes speakers on a wide variety of payroll-related topics, as well as other topics of general interest to the payroll professional, which provides you with an opportunity to earn recertification credit hours (RCH's). Vendors are also invited to participate, allowing them to offer their payroll-related products and services. Please check our calendar for updates and meeting information.

Special Events: Study groups are held twice a year in accordance with the testing schedule for Certified Payroll Professional and Fundamental Payroll Certification programs. National Payroll Week is celebrated the first Thursday after Labor Day in September.
